I’m back, baby. I’m back. They say that life changes when you have children, and I was ready for my life to change. But nothing can prepare you for the perpetual drowsiness and exhaustion that comes from the long sleepless nights, and the long days spent trying to keep a very small child alive. My children are a blessing, and I love them. But, let’s be honest, there isn’t a lot of creative energy left at the end of day. So I took a hiatus from painting. Now that both of our children are getting older, and my wife is at home full-time, it’s getting easier. And there is a little bit more time for painting.
What an eventful year 2014 has been. I’ve been continuing in my day job as an Account Executive for World Vision. In addition, I have been running with Team World Vision, a volunteer running group that raises funds for clean water and sanitation projects. I was invited to participate in Hood to Coast, the world’s longest relay race, with Team World Vision in August. I was a part of a team of 12 that ran from Mt. Hood to Seaside Oregon over the course of two days. I raised over $5,000 in part by selling off my artwork and donating the proceeds. With over 20 paintings sold this summer, my walls at home were looking bare. There is nothing like a blank wall to inspire me to get back to painting. This fall, I have been feverishly working on completing a series of ten new koi fish paintings. Plus, I’m already working on ideas for a continuation of the rusty car series and musical instrument series.
I’m Daniel R. Carver (aka Dano), a marketing specialist and artist, who lives and works in Seattle, WA. I specialize in serving non-profit organizations, and bring a wealth of experience from my 10+ years working in various agency and in-house environments. I’m capable of executing multi-channel marketing campaigns from inception to completion, with a knack for managing the pesky details. In my spare time, when I am not working on a campaign for a client, I enjoy painting in my studio.
Currently, I am working as an Account Executive at World Vision. I’m not currently accepting freelance work. Learn more
